Aye, those crumbling window sills on pebbledash walls are a right pain—let water in and next thing you know, the whole lot’s spalling. Hammered off the loose bits back to solid surface, no messing about, then knocked up a wooden frame to hold everything in place.
Propped the timber framework snug against the window and wall, nailed it steady, and stretched wire mesh over for reinforcement—stops cracks popping up later. Kept it level with a spirit, cos nothing worse than a wonky sill letting rain pool.
Mixed up a strong concrete bed with rebar laid in for strength (rusty old one’s usually the culprit), poured it into the frame over the mesh, and trowelled smooth. Gave it a day or two to cure proper.
Framework off, now it’s finished, brushed clean, and primed up—perfect for a top coat of masonry paint to match the house. Job like this keeps the damp out for years; if your sills look like this, give us a shout before it worsens.
