Paving Stones: Stripping back grime

Clean joints!

POWER WASH

Those paving stones had seen better days. Moss was creeping through the joints, silt had settled in thick, and the lichen stains were stubborn—the kind that won't budge with a quick spray. You can tell straightaway when a surface has been neglected for a season or two.

There's no rushing this kind of work, especially when you're covering a larger area. Blast through it too quickly and you'll either damage the stones or leave patches that don't match. You have to be methodical, working through each joint properly. Once you step back and see the difference though—from grey and grimy to clean stone again—it's worth every minute spent on site.

Once the pressure washing is done, that's not the end of it. A good disinfectant or sealer gets applied to lock in the results. Skip this part and the moss creeps back in no time. Do it properly and the stones stay looking restored, protected from the weather, and clean for longer. It's the difference between a job done and a job done right.
