Moss Off The Chimney – Roof Freshen-Up
Scraped, cleared and treated – no fuss, just a clean slate
ROOF & GUTTERS

Another roof sorted last week.
First the moss was scraped off the tiles, then the gutters cleared so nothing ends up blocking downpipes, and finally the roof was treated with biocide to kill off any leftover growth and spores.
You’ll notice on the photos that the worst moss is always around the chimney. That area stays cooler and shaded, the brick and flashing hold moisture, and rainwater tends to slow and linger there. Those damp, sheltered spots are exactly what moss and algae like best, so they take over quickly if left alone.
If your roof around the chimney is starting to green up the same way, it’s a good time to get it cleaned and treated before it spreads further – just get in touch if you need a hand.
